Woman cut from car and rushed to hospital after 'major' crash shuts roads

A woman was cut from her car by emergency services after a serious collision involving two vehicles in Rochdale on the evening of December 4. The incident occurred around 8.30pm at the junction of Bolton Road and Eskdale Avenue. Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service responded with two fire engines and a rescue unit, using specialist equipment to extricate the woman, who was then taken to hospital. Additionally, paramedics treated four other individuals at the scene. Road closures were put in place as emergency services worked to ensure safety before handing over to Greater Manchester Police. Fire crews were on the scene for about an hour and a half.
