Three teenagers and taxi driver killed in Bolton crash named locally

Three teenagers and a taxi driver tragically lost their lives in a crash on Wigan Road, Bolton, in the early hours of Sunday. The teens, aged 18 to 19, have been named as Mohammed Jibrael Mukhtar, Farhan Patel, and Muhammad Danyaal Asghar Ali. The taxi driver, Mosrab Ali, in his 50s, was reportedly from Blackburn. Five passengers were injured and taken to hospital for treatment. Eyewitness reports described a “loud bang” and significant debris scattered across the road, with footage capturing the devastating crash. Chief Inspector Helen McCormick confirmed the ongoing efforts for formal identification and highlighted the support provided to the victims’ families. She expressed gratitude to emergency responders and acknowledged the impact of road safety, stressing the need for continued efforts to prevent such tragedies in Greater Manchester.
