Three Stockport schools shortlisted for prestigious regional award

Three schools from Stockport—St James’ Catholic High School, Stockport Academy, and the Pendlebury Centre—have been shortlisted for The Educate Awards, which is the biggest education awards ceremony in the North West. St James’ is up for Outstanding Commitment to Sport in Secondary School, Corie Higgins from Stockport Academy is nominated for Teacher of the Year, and the Pendlebury Centre is in the running for Most Inspirational Specialist School. Overall, there are 21 categories celebrating exceptional educators and staff, with three finalists per category. The winners will be revealed on 14 November at a ceremony in Liverpool Anglican Cathedral. Kim O’Brien, the founder of the awards, praised the remarkable work happening in the region and expressed excitement about celebrating the finalists’ achievements. Thanks were also given to the event’s partners for their support in making the awards possible.
