The owner of a medieval manor house in Manchester is keen to find new uses for Baguley Hall while keeping its historic charm intact. Built by Sir William de Baggiley in the reign of King Edward II, this Grade-I listed building is home to one of England’s oldest timber-framed halls, featuring impressive wooden beams over 50cm thick. Mike Kane, the local Labour MP, expressed hopes that it could open to the public, either permanently or on special open days, marking a significant step for the area after a century of restricted access.
