Teenager charged after bus station stabbing in Greater Manchester town
A 16-year-old boy has been charged after a stabbing incident at Wigan Interchange left two individuals with serious injuries. The victims—a 42-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy—have since been discharged from hospital and are recovering well. The police responded to reports of the stabbings on September 10 and subsequently issued a dispersal order for Wigan town centre due to rising crime and anti-social behaviour. The teenager faces charges for grievous bodily harm and possession of a blade in public and is set to appear at Manchester Youth Court. Local police have increased patrols for reassurance, and the interchange is back to normal operations. Detective Inspector Lee Shaw confirmed the victims’ recovery and stated that additional measures are in place to ensure public safety.
