Suspect named after alleged attack on nurse at Wythenshawe Hospital

A man has been charged after allegedly attacking a nurse at Wythenshawe Hospital in the early hours of December 11. The male nurse received treatment for his injuries, which aren’t expected to be life-threatening. Christian Abernethy, 48, from Middleton, faces a charge of wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent and is currently in custody. He’s set to appear at Manchester Crown Court on January 16.
