Skiving Greater Manchester Police staff face sack after anti-corruption investigation

GMP staff suspected of skiving while working from home could face disciplinary action, following an investigation into “key jamming” — a tactic where workers manipulate their computer activity to appear busy. The Anti-Corruption Unit has identified 26 individuals, including officers and contractors, now facing formal misconduct inquiries. This initiative aims to improve efficiency and accountability within the force. Deputy Chief Constable Terry Woods highlighted the importance of responsible resource use, stating that communities deserve value for their taxpayer contributions. While investigations are underway, working from home privileges have been revoked. Management of those involved will also face increased scrutiny.
