'Shocking' assault and criminal damage in Woodley believed to be isolated incident

Police in Woodley are asking for information after two serious incidents on 8 January. Around midday, a group of men broke into a property, causing significant damage. While investigating that, officers found a man who had been assaulted in his home nearby, suffering serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Four suspects, aged 19, 44, 45, and 48, have been arrested on suspicion of assault and are currently in custody. Detective Inspector Michael Dever reassured locals that these incidents are considered isolated and don’t pose a wider threat. He urged anyone with information to contact the police using log 1557 of 08/01/26, or to reach out anonymously to Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111. Crime is being actively investigated, and police presence will remain in the area.
