Search for gunman continues after man, 22, shot in the foot
A 22-year-old man was shot in the foot in Gorton but fortunately sustained only a graze and no serious injuries. The shooting occurred around 12.15am on Saturday, September 20, on Wayland Road, where armed police found a bullet in the victim’s shoe. Detectives are actively searching for the unidentified gunman, who fled the scene. A police cordon was set up around the area near Ryder Brown Pocket Park, and forensic teams were seen collecting evidence. Officers also conducted door-to-door inquiries for any CCTV footage that might help in the investigation. Greater Manchester Police confirmed that no arrests have been made yet and clarified that this incident is unrelated to recent firearms discharges in Newton Heath.
