River Mersey flood defence repair work completed

Repairs on the river embankments in Manchester, damaged by severe flooding, are now finished after months of disruptions for walkers. The work affected areas like the popular Fletcher Moss and several footbridges, leading to parts of the river being closed off. Jamie Dixon, the flood risk manager, highlighted the importance of restoring community protection quickly and safely after the impact of flooding.
