Rare 'Sword Dragon' dinosaur named after 24 years

Researchers have unveiled the identity of a massive dinosaur skeleton from the seas, dating back millions of years. Dr Dean Lomax from the University of Manchester recalled first seeing the skeleton in 2016, emphasising its importance in understanding ichthyosaurs, particularly as it fills a gap in their evolutionary history. Professor Judy Massare, an expert on ichthyosaurs from the State University of New York, acknowledged the significance of this discovery, though she noted there are still unanswered questions regarding the species.
