Police update as e-bike rider, 17, found with machete after 'drug driver' crash

Police have provided an update on two arrests made following a crash involving a green BMW X2 and a Surron e-bike in Chorlton, south Manchester, last Saturday night. The e-bike rider, a 17-year-old lad, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was found with a machete and a locking knife at the scene. He was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon. The BMW driver, whose age isn’t disclosed, was breathalysed and drug-tested, with police suspecting he was under the influence of cannabis. He’s been arrested for driving under the influence of drugs. As of the latest update, the e-bike rider remains in Salford Royal Infirmary and will be questioned once he’s fit for custody. The driver has been bailed as investigations continue.
