Police race to Bolton A&E after man attacks patients in waiting room

Emergency services rushed to Bolton A&E on Friday afternoon after a man attacked patients inside. The incident, occurring around 4:15pm, involved a man brought in by police who began shouting and violently assaulted others, including punching one man and biting another’s ear. A witness, Michael Anderson, alongside a nurse, managed to restrain the attacker until security arrived. Multiple police vehicles were seen outside the hospital. A man in his 20s was arrested on charges of serious assault, police assault, and racially aggravated public order offences. The police did not disclose details about the victims’ injuries. Bolton NHS Foundation Trust has been contacted for further comments.
