Police issue update after bomb squad called out to Stockport street
Police have updated the situation after a bomb scare in Stockport on Tuesday, February 17, when Schools Hill was taped off and the bomb squad was called in. Officers arrived at 1.30pm to investigate a suspected Second World War memorabilia device. Greater Manchester Police confirmed that they safely detonated the device as a precaution before reopening the street. Residents had been advised on social media to steer clear of the area during the incident. A GMP spokesperson reassured that the situation was handled and the area was secured.
