Police descend on Wythenshawe Hospital after patient attacks nurse
A nurse in his 50s was injured after being attacked with a broken mug by a patient at Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester. The incident occurred around 1.30am on December 11. Thankfully, the nurse’s injuries aren’t life-threatening, and he has since been discharged. A 48-year-old man, who was receiving treatment at the hospital at the time, has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. Greater Manchester Police responded quickly to the situation, and investigations are still ongoing. Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust has been contacted for further comments.
