Police and paramedics close off road as elderly man rushed to hospital
An elderly man collapsed while crossing the road in Whitefield, Bury, on Wednesday, January 14. Emergency services, including police and paramedics, quickly rushed to the scene at the junction of Bury New Road and Radcliffe New Road. The road was closed off as they attended to the man, who is believed to be in his 90s. He was taken to the hospital for further assessment, but his condition remains unclear. A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson confirmed they were alerted at around 3:28pm regarding the incident. Emergency crews, including a fire engine, responded promptly to the situation.
