New £27m Cheadle College campus officially opens

Cheadle College has officially opened a new £27 million campus, modernising its facilities with state-of-the-art classrooms and vocational workshops tailored for students, including those with special educational needs. This upgrade is expected to inspire and create new opportunities for students aged 16 and over. The project also involved around 1,000 students contributing through apprenticeships and work placements, and about £9 million was spent with local businesses. The campus boasts sustainable features like air source heat pumps and solar panels. James Scott, CEO of Trafford and Stockport College Group, highlighted the empowering impact of the new space, while student Lilly Holland expressed excitement about gaining essential skills for her future nursing career. Cllr Wendy Meikle welcomed the new campus as part of Cheadle’s growth plans, emphasising the provision of top-notch education for local youth. The project was carried out by Willmott Dixon, showcasing strong community collaboration.
