'My life has been transformed by washing cars'

Luis, a young man who faced mental health challenges during the Covid lockdowns, found joy in launching his own car-washing business called We Shine Any Car, which is located near Bolton town centre. His venture kicked off this month, thanks to support from a youth empowerment programme that aided 40 young people over the summer, funded by a £35,000 grant from Bolton Council. Another young person, 18-year-old Jennifer Young, also shared her struggles with mental health during the isolation of lockdowns.
