Marple and Cheadle named among possible locations for new M&S Food store

Marple and Cheadle are in the running for new M&S food stores as the retailer aims to expand its presence. M&S has revealed a list of around 500 potential locations and is inviting local feedback on sites. The company seeks to double its food business, targeting 180 full-line stores and 420 food shops, focusing on large sites capable of housing the complete M&S Food range, averaging about 18,000 sqft. Alex Freudmann, Managing Director of M&S Food, expressed confidence in the growth due to their successful new stores and plans to improve customer experience. M&S is speeding up its rollout with over twenty openings or refurbishments expected by the financial year’s end.
