Manchester Arena plotter Hashem Abedi due in court over alleged prison officer attempted murders
Hashem Abedi is set to appear in court today, facing charges of attempted murder after allegedly attacking four prison officers at HMP Frankland. The 28-year-old, who was involved in the Manchester Arena bombing plot, is charged with three counts of attempted murder, one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and one count of possessing a weapon unlawfully in prison from the incident that occurred on April 12. Abedi is serving a minimum 55-year sentence for his role in the bombing that killed 22 people. He’ll be at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London today.
