Man with dementia convicted over car he did not drive

A pensioner from Greater Manchester, suffering from severe dementia, has been convicted for failing to insure a car he can no longer drive. He stopped using his Peugeot in December 2024 after his dementia diagnosis. The case was handled at Derby Magistrates’ Court under the Single Justice Procedure, which is a quick process for low-level offences.
