Man and woman charged as part of modern slavery investigation

A couple from Salford, Nicolae Branovici, 33, and Maria Branovici, 26, have been charged with modern slavery as part of a Greater Manchester Police investigation. Nicolae faces charges for modern slavery and cocaine possession, while Maria is charged solely with modern slavery. They were arrested on February 19, 2026.
