Major update issued by police following night of violence on streets of Oldham

A second arrest has been made following violent incidents in Oldham that left two people stabbed and another assaulted on Thursday evening, February 12. Three men were hospitalised with non-life-threatening injuries. The attacks occurred in Chadderton and Coldhurst, including a 26-year-old who sustained leg injuries at Butler Green and a 21-year-old who was stabbed at the B&M car park. Two suspects, aged 21 and 22, were arrested related to the B&M incident. A heavy police presence remains in the area, supported by extended stop and search measures. Local councillor Abdul Jabbar noted the community’s usual peace and commended the police for their swift response. Greater Manchester Police emphasised their commitment to tackling knife crime and encouraged anyone with information to come forward.
