IN PICTURES: Stockport Jane Austen fans descend on Lyme Park
Lyme Park has had a lively year, celebrating two big anniversaries: 30 years since the BBC filmed Pride and Prejudice there and Jane Austen’s 250th birthday. Austen fans flocked to the park for a Regency-themed event, organised with Stockport’s Serenity Booksellers. Folks donned period attire, enjoyed talks from various authors, participated in an embroidery workshop, played a quiz, and even joined in Regency dancing. Kelly Peck from Serenity Booksellers expressed her love for Austen and how magical it was to host the event at Lyme Park. Serenity Booksellers are renowned independent bookshops in the area, known for their book clubs and author events.
