Gunman arrested after stand-off with armed police on Salford street
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a shooting in Salford on February 1. Police responded to reports on St Joseph’s Drive around 8.15pm, leading to a stand-off with armed officers. A 36-year-old suspect was detained and faces charges related to attempted murder and possessing a firearm. Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident. Greater Manchester Police are launching an investigation and have maintained a cordon around the area for forensic examination. Detective Superintendent Simon Moyles emphasised the seriousness of the situation, stating that firearms and intimidation have no place in the region, and called for public assistance.
