Gorton and Denton by-election candidates confirmed with 11 in the race – full list

The Gorton and Denton by-election is all set for February 26, 2026, after MP Andrew Gwynne’s resignation. A total of 11 candidates will be on the ballot, following the closure of nominations. To vote, residents must be 18 or older, British, Irish, or a qualifying Commonwealth citizen, and registered by 11:59pm on February 10. If you want a postal vote, apply by 5pm on February 11; for proxy voting, the deadline is 5pm on February 18. Remember, you’ll need valid photo ID to vote—check the Electoral Commission for accepted forms or you can apply for a Voter Authority Certificate if you don’t have one, also by February 18.
