Girl, 2, injured and driver arrested after Audi swerves off road and ploughs into tree
A toddler was injured in a serious crash involving a grey Audi Q3 in Mobberley, just near Manchester Airport. The incident happened around 1.35pm on Wednesday (September 24) when the Audi swerved off the road and hit a tree. Both the 28-year-old driver from Altrincham and the two-year-old girl were taken to Wythenshawe Hospital for treatment – the driver has non-life-threatening injuries, while the toddler suffered head and arm injuries and has been transferred to Manchester Children’s Hospital. The driver was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Cheshire Police are now seeking witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to help with their inquiries. Sergeant Russell Sime stressed the importance of gathering information to understand the incident better.
