Forensics descend on Greater Manchester beauty spot as woman rushed to hospital

A woman is in a critical condition after falling from a bridge at Burrs Country Park in Bury early this morning (December 3). Emergency services were called around 6:30am due to concerns for her welfare, as she was spotted on the ‘wrong side of the bridge’ before falling into the River Irwell. Greater Manchester Police confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances involved and have launched an investigation. Forensics teams were seen at the park, and firefighters and paramedics also provided assistance. GMP is appealing for any witnesses or those with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward. The woman has been taken to hospital for treatment. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact GMP quoting log number 522 of December 3.
