Flames soar and 'explosions' heard after car set on fire in Greater Manchester street
Emergency services responded to a car fire on Edge Lane Street in Royton, Oldham, around 10:40pm on Tuesday, September 9. Witnesses reported hearing small explosions and saw smoke rising from the scene. Three fire engines from local stations extinguished the flames and worked to secure the area for about 50 minutes. Greater Manchester Police were called to the scene but reported no arrests have been made yet, and investigations are ongoing. The fire service highlighted that firefighters used breathing apparatus and hose reels to handle the situation.
