First residents move into previously derelict area
The first residents have just moved into a long-deserted neighbourhood, which has been empty for 15 years. One resident mentioned the appeal of being able to buy a house instead of a flat while still being close to town. Manchester City Council revealed plans for up to 3,000 new houses in the area, with construction ongoing for another 260 homes, including 130 designated for social rent.
