Fire crews called to blaze at Stockport tower block

Fire crews tackled a blaze in a Lancashire Hill apartment block on Wednesday, 7 January. Four fire engines arrived around 7:30pm to find smoke coming from an upper floor. The fire originated in a blocked bin chute. Firefighters worked for about 90 minutes to extinguish the flames and clear the blockage. Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the quick response from fire stations in Offerton, Whitehill, Stockport, and Wythenshawe.
