Family left ‘in fear’ over fire and antisocial behaviour in housing block

A mum, Lauren Perry, was left terrified when smoke filled her flat after a fire in the bin chute of her seventh-floor apartment in Stockport. With her three-month-old daughter, Trixie, in tow, Lauren experienced sheer panic until her partner, Luke Kelly, rushed back to rescue them. They navigated through smoke and littered stairs, facing ongoing anti-social issues in the building, including drug use and trash. Despite reporting these problems to Stockport Homes, little action has been taken, leaving them feeling unsafe. Stockport Homes acknowledged the distress caused and vowed to address safety concerns and anti-social behaviour, but Lauren remains deeply worried about her daughter’s welfare in such an environment.
