Everything we know so far as major parties declare candidates for Gorton & Denton by-election

Angeliki Stogia is the Labour candidate for this year’s election, having moved to the UK from Greece in the 1990s and serving as a councillor since 2004. Reform UK has picked Matt Goodwin, a GB News presenter and Salford Uni grad, as their candidate. The Liberal Democrats are fielding local campaigner Jackie Pearcey, who has previously garnered 2,600 votes in 2017. The Green Party’s candidate is Hannah Spencer, a lifelong Greater Manchester resident and plumber. The Conservative Party’s choice is Charlotte Cadden, a former detective chief inspector with 30 years in the police. Lastly, Joseph O’Meachair will represent the Re-join EU Party, serving on the party’s executive and residing in the North West.
