'Crime-smashing' police operation in Brinnington sees multiple arrests
A recent police operation in Brinnington, which kicked off on 10 November, has led to 15 arrests related to drug-dealing, anti-social behaviour, and vehicle crime, all with input from local residents. During this effort, the police seized £17,000 in illicit cash, two kilograms of heroin valued at around £200,000, 12 blades, and several thousand pounds worth of cannabis. Chief Inspector Clare Ryle highlighted the importance of community intelligence in tackling crime, emphasising a commitment to ongoing neighbourhood policing. Cllr Dan Oliver expressed the council’s dedication to community safety and the positive impact of proactive policing, encouraging residents to work with local officers to enhance the safety of Brinnington. The operation is set to continue until the end of the month, with no signs of slowing down, as the police aim to further address crime in the area.
