Boy 'less nervous' about Tourette's after film debut

A 13-year-old boy, Dexter, who has Tourette’s syndrome, shared that starring in a film about the condition helped ease his nerves, as he felt a connection with others like him. Tourette’s is an incurable condition marked by sudden tics—repetitive sounds or movements—affecting Dexter’s daily life and making public outings challenging. Diagnosed at 11, he and his mum initially sought ways to manage it. The film, I Swear, sought young actors with Tourette’s by collaborating with the charity Tourettes Action.
