£500k and 3.5 kilos of drugs seized in Brinnington during police operation
In Brinnington, police seized £500,000 in cash and 3.5 kilograms of illegal drugs during a recent operation aimed at reducing crime. Starting on 10th November, the initiative saw an increased police presence, using drones and traffic teams, which led to the confiscation of two kilograms of heroin, 1.5 kilograms of cannabis, and 12 vehicles. With the operation now concluded, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) highlighted its success in building intelligence on crime in the area and removing suspected criminals. Chief Inspector John Picton noted that the initiative helps tackle serious issues like drug trafficking and weapon possession. He emphasised the importance of community support and communication to further combat crime. GMP reported significant reductions in burglary and vehicle crime across Greater Manchester, showcasing the impact of neighbourhood policing.
